When state police began patrolling Durham Road toward Trenton Road, they observed a male fitting the witness’ description, enter a vehicle that had been stopped along the roadway by the I-95 overpass. Police were able to identify the man as 42-year-old William Hirst of Bristol.

Hirst, who was positively identified by the witnesses as the man seen leaving the laundry room after the window was broken, had a warrant out for his arrest in Bucks County, according to the criminal complaint filed by police.

Hirst told police he had been dropped off at Durham Road and E. Lincoln Highway by the bus, and that he was walking home. According to court documents, he denied having broken the window and entering the laundry room.
