The winter storm that welcomed spring on Friday is expected to drop more snow on Lower Bucks County than initially expected.

By Friday afternoon, the National Weather Service’s Mount Holly, New Jersey increased the snow total prediction to 4 to 6 inches by the time snow ends Friday night. An early forecast called for up to 3 inches of snow.

The snow started Friday shortly after 7 a.m. in part of the area and picked up as the day wore on.

A winter weather advisory was placed into a effect for Friday until 8 p.m.

“In addition to the snow, any water on roads could refreeze tonight. Also, there is a chance that freezing drizzle could occur late tonight if the precipitation lingers after midnight,” forecasters said.
