A Bristol Borough man working for a contractor is accused of stealing from an Upper Makefield home.
Police have charged Sean Mahabee, 27, with stealing two checks and a gift card. Both items were reportedly taken from the homeowner while they were on vacation in January. The homeowner also learned someone had attempted to withdraw money from their bank account, police said.

During the investigation, the residents informed police contractors were working on the home while the family was away.
Police said they developed Mahabee as a suspect and he admitted to the theft when interviewed.
“Our investigation revealed that this person acted alone, without the knowledge of his employer, and that there was not a systemic problem with the contractor,” police said.

Mahabee was charged this week with forgery, access device fraud, theft and receiving stolen property. District Judge Philip Daly released Mahabee on $15,000 unsecured bail.
