After a blaze ripped through a home on Coral Lane in Bristol Township’s Levittown section, the Detective Christopher Jones Foundation responded to help the family.

The foundation, named in memory of a fallen Middletown detective, donated a $1,500 check from their emergency relief fund to the residents of the home the day after the February 27 fire.

The Dahill family, who lived in the home, consisted of five adults and three children. Their home sustained serious damage due to a fire caused by a plumbing torch being used to thaw frozen pipes.

“The foundation sincerely hopes that this money will help this family on their road to rebuilding their future,” according to the group.

The group formed in 2010 following the 2009 death of Jones, who was struck by a vehicle while conducting a traffic stop on Route 1 just before the I-95 on-ramp. Jones, a 10-year Middletown officer, was promoted to detective after his death.
