The cosmetology students at Bucks County Technical High School in Bristol Township will be holding a special Hope Cuts event this Saturday.
The event raises funds for charity and will feature cosmetology students practicing their skills with $5 manicures, haircuts, deep conditioning and facials. The fundraiser will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the school on Wistar Road.

The BCTHS Hope Cuts event was started by instructor Brandee Garnett several years as a way to teach students to give back to their community. The event is co-organized by 2014 BCTHS graduate Shane White.
“My aunt lost her life to cancer after years of battling it. Her strength, faith, and positivity through it all is why I have dedicated myself to City of Hope and Hope Cuts. It gives me hope that one day a cure will be found so that we can put an end to cancer.” said White earlier this year.
“Hope Cuts is now an on-going part of the schools community service through the SkillsUSA program, students are looking forward to taking part and giving up their Saturday,” according to organizers.

The funds raised will go toward the City of Hope charity, which helps fund HIV/AIDS and cancer research at the City of Hope National Medical Center & Beckman Research Institute.
Baked goods and snacks will also be available at the event.
