The cold won’t end with the snow, according to forecasters.

Subzero wind chills and below-freezing temperatures will keep slick roads that way through Thursday night and into Friday morning.

“Roadway chemicals used to melt the snow will become ineffective with the very cold overnight temperatures,” National Weather Service meteorologist Gary Szatkowski tweeted Thursday evening.

In advance of the storm, Bucks County issued a “Code Blue” from Thursday and Saturday. The on-call churches are: Emilie United Methodist Church in Levittown, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Doylestown and Salem Mennonite Church in Quakertown.

Forecasters also warned of blowing snow Thursday night.
