St. Patrick’s Day Parade Set To March Through Area

Joe Hogan has served his country in the military and his community as a veteran. Now, he will lead the Bucks County St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 14 as it marches through the area.

Hogan, a resident of Bristol Township’s Levittown section,will lead the parade in its 27th annual outing. Starting with mass at St. Joseph the Worker Church on New Falls Road in Levittown at 8 a.m., the parade will kick off at 10:30 a.m. in the area of the church. The parade will then move along New Falls Road towards Conwell-Egan Catholic High School in Fairless Hills, parade officials said.

Hogan, the grand marshal, will lead the parade past thousands of people lined up along the route. The parade will feature local children, musical acts, nonprofits, emergency responders and St. Patrick himself.

According to parade organizers, Hogan played a important role in bringing the Washington Crossing National Cemetery to Bucks County several years backed.

Parade founder George Galloway said at this week’s Bucks County Commissioners meeting that Hogan should be honored for his service.

“It’s truly an honor to represent my community … and we’re going to have a good time, ” Hogan said.
