As if you didn’t know already, George Washington was a boss. He was a solider, leader, farmer and the first president of the United States of America – plus, as we learned this weekend, he cuts his birthday cake with a saber!
On Sunday, Washington – portrayed by Middletown resident and Bristol Township police lieutenant John Godzieba – helped celebrate what would have been the first president’s 283rd birthday.

The celebration took place at Washington Crossing Park in Upper Makefield on Sunday. While you sit at home cutting your cake with a dinky knife, just remember that George Washington used a large metal saber.
