The Falls Township Board of Supervisors meeting planned for Tuesday, February 17, is still on despite township offices being closed due to inclement weather.
The board, which will meet to discuss numerous agenda items, is expected to receive quite a large attendance from the Falls Township community.

The Falls Board of Supervisors will hear a proposal from S&S Wildlife regarding geese management at Falls Township Community Park. The board which voted to approve a dog service and permit for S&S to remove goose eggs at their last meeting, asked a representative from the company to come back and discuss further options with the board before March.
The board is also expected to discuss a project to build sidewalks on New Falls Road. Many have been behind the sidewalks for New Falls Road idea since Sharon Rearick’s son was killed on the dangerous road back in the summer of 2012. Rearick, a Bristol Twp. resident, who with the help of her family and community members started the nonprofit, Sidewalks Are For Everyone (S.A.F.E), has been a revolutionary tool in making the road a little safer. The board discussed potential sidewalks on the road as part of a grant last March.

The board will also vote to change an ordinance that residents and representatives of Wawa battled over for several months late last year. Wawa, which wanted to build a gas station and convenience store atย West Trenton Ave. and Pine Grove Rd. despite needing several variances, argued they were not a service station and therefore did not have to follow the ordinance dictating how close service stations could be to one another. The project, which was voted down unanimously by the Falls Zoning Hearing Board, was heavily debated among residents, including nearby service and gas station owner Kevin Stillwell of G.K. Automotive. Stillwell has called the idea of changing the ordinance to benefit businesses like Wawa, “outrageous.”
Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story was unclear as to whether the ordinance or the building of Wawa would be voted on at the Falls meeting, edits have been made to make that issue more clear.
