After a teacher assigned students to write a persuasive letter, AJ Hammer wrote one that asked for help raising funds for the Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter in Levittown.

AJ collected money from friends and family. By the end of his fundraising mission, the Pennsbury student had raised $415 for the shelter. He also presented 50 handmade scarves that were from his grandmother.
Oxford Valley Elementary School Principal Fran Nitkin called AJ a โrole modelโ for other students.
In return for donations, friends and family received homemade cookies from AJ.
