Tullytown will begin work on its newest park in the coming weeks.

The borough expects work to begin on Tullytown Community Park behind the Levittown Town Center this summer, according to borough officials.

The 4.2-acre lot that sits between Kenwood Drive South and the back of the shopping center will feature a playground, walking paths, large rain garden, picnic pavilion and gazebo, Borough Manager Alison Smith said.

Late last year, Tullytown received a state grant for $387,000. The grant will be used in combination with a $250,000 county grant and municipal money.

Smith said the borough would be doing some of the work on the project itself to help keep the cost down.

The borough secured agreements with shopping center tenants to provide parking and foot access to the property.

The park is expected to be completed in about a year.
