A Bristol Township family is without a home Wednesday after fire officials say it was heavily damaged in an afternoon blaze.
The fire began around 1:30 p.m. at 816 Winder Drive in the township’s Winder Village section. Bristol Township Fire Marshall Kevin Dipolito said a grandmother inside the home was cooking on a stove when a grease fire began and “got away from her,” the fire then spread up the walls and into the second floor.

The Third District, Edgely, Croydon, Levittown 2, and Goodwill fire companies responded to the blaze – putting the fire out in about 45 minutes.
While none of the family members were injured in the blaze, one firefighter was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
As of press time, Dippolito was working to get in contact with the American Red Cross to provide needed assistance to the family.
