Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley has his next job already lined up.
The United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey announced on Tuesday that Cawley, a native of Bristol Township’s Levittown section, was named CEO and president of the nonprofit following a months-long national search.

Cawley, who recently moved from Middletown to Wrightstown, will assume his new job once his role as lieutenant governor ends in the coming days.
“The board was determined to identify a leader who demonstrated a commitment to serving the community and carrying out our mission, and who possessed the ability to build relationships, engender trust in the community and generate results. We considered a wide cross section of candidates, and Jim was the clear choice,” regional United Way Board Chairman Lon Greenberg said.
Greenberg and the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey cited 45-year-old Cawley’s work in state government, his time as a Bucks County Commissioner, his presence on the Bristol Township School Board, his service while on the board of directors for Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol and as a Bucks County Community College trustee when making their decision.

Tony Conti served as temporary United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey president during the search.

Cawley holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a law degree from Temple University.
