Assistant District Attorney Chris Rees told LevittownNow.com in October that Tarr was found to be in possession of roughly 1,500 video and audio files recorded from his ex-girlfriend’s computer.
Tarr’s ex-girlfriend, a Middletown resident, became suspicious on March 17 when she found there were two usernames on her computer. She investigated further and the one username showed it was “logged in remotely from J01,” according to court documents.
Upon further investigation and consultation with computer-savvy friend, the woman found out how to block further attempts of remote access, court documents said. Police said the woman then saw there were failed remote log in attempts and the woman was close to finding data on the computer when a new user account was created and blocked her access.

The woman then confronted Tarr over the phone and he admitted to accessing her computer remotely. He said he watched and listened in on her using the system’s built-in webcam and microphone, court papers say.
“A forensic examination of [the woman’s] computer showed that it contained two administrator accounts that [the woman] advised did not belong to her and that she was not aware of this prior to March 17,” Detective Andrew Amoroso wrote in an affidavit of probable cause filed against Tarr.

Tarr built and serviced his ex-girlfriend’s computer in 2008, two years after the couple broke up. Tarr remained in contact with his ex-girlfriend after their 2006 breakup because they have a child together.
