The editors of Neshaminy High School’s buzzed about student newspaper will be speaking Tuesday evening at the Levittown Library.
Playwickian editors will be speaking about constitutional rights of public school students with regards to freedom of speech along with Philadelphia-based attorney William R. McLaughlin. The 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. event in the New Falls Road library’s large meeting room is part of the My Daily Constitution series, which is designed to create a public dialogue about the U.S. Constitution.

My Daily Constitution founder Linda Pollack, who is a Levittown native and former Neshaminy student, said the idea of the event is to talk about what is one of the most famous documents in the world.
“Our Constitution, our democracy, is about interpretation– and interpretation means a collective, active dialogue, not just passive consumers and lawmaking producers. The U.S. Constitution is a living document, part of our day to day life, influencing us in both large and small ways daily,” said Pollack, who is now a Los Angelos resident.
The editors of The Playwickian gained national fame over the past year as their decision not to print the high school mascot’s team name has caused a heated debate.
