Bristol Township’s newest fire truck worked its first fire Friday evening.
Levittown Fire Company No. 2’s newest truck, Squirt 13, along with other crews were called out Huckleberry Lane around 5:20 p.m. for a reported house fire.

Levitown No. 2 Fire Chief Ralph Gumbert said his crews were just returning to the station following a unrelated call and rushed to the Bristol Township house.
Gumbert said he arrived to find smoke on the second-floor.
Firefighters rushed in to find flames in a second-floor bedroom that was being used as an exercise room and quickly put it out, officials said.

Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said the quick response by volunteer firefighters helped contain the majority of the damage to the exercise room.
Gumbert said the majority of the damage was from smoke.

No injuries were reported.
The fire was accidental and caused by a light duty extension cord, Dippolito said.
The blaze was reported by a resident who came home and found smoke in the house, officials said.

Several pets were in the house and were unharmed, the chief said.
Crews from Edgely, Fairless Hills and Levittown No. 1 assisted Levittown No. 2 crews at the scene. Medics from the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad along with police also responded.
