A Bristol Township man is accused of using his ex-girlfriend’s image and cellphone number on a Craiglist ad that solicited sex.

Timothy Fitzgerald, 23, was charged last week with unlawful use of a computer, stalking, unlawful transmission of email and harassment. He was arraigned by District Judge Joanne Kline and released after a New Jersey man posted 10 percent of Fitzgerald’s $50,000 bail.

Police said Fitzgerald’s ex-girlfriend discovered the Craigslist posting and contacted authorities. The posting, according to the woman, contained “pornographic” images of her along with her name and cellphone number, court papers say.

The woman told investigators she believed roughly six dozen vulgar text messages and photos came from people who saw the posting, according to court papers.

Fitzgerald’s ex-girlfriend said she has a protection from abuse order against the 23 year old, court papers say. The order took effect on June 25 and came with the clause that Fitzgerald would assist in removing the Craigslist posting, court papers say.

Despite the stipulation, Fitzgerald hasn’t removed the post, according to court papers.

Police said they traced the IP address that put up the post to Fitzgerald’s mobile device. Court papers say that police dialed the cellphone number connected with the account and the person that answered identified themselves as Fitzgerald.

The defendant’s ex-girlfriend said the text messages came in often late at night or in the early morning hours. Some of the messages left the woman fearful, court papers say.
