The Bristol Township School District is looking to get the community involved.

The school board on Monday announced they are looking for community members to join a task force that will be formed in order to come up with solutions to fix Harry S. Truman High School’s deteriorating roof.

Parts of the school’s roof leak and have caused problems in the building. The district has worked in recent months to make repairs to the roof and mitigate problems associated with the moisture getting into the building. Photos from students leaked online in September and showed the ceiling in one bathroom was crumbling.
Superintendent Dr. Sam Lee said estimates for fixing or replacing the aging high school’s roof range from $1.5 million to $10 million.
Repairs to parts of the roof, which is in about 30 different sections, were covered by a prorated warranty.Anyone who is interested in becoming part of the task force is asked to email Lee at samlee@btsd.us.
