Borough police wrote in court papers filed early Thursday morning that a man came to the police station around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday to report he mistakenly left a gun at a house on DeHaven Avenue while he was visiting.

The man said he returned to the DeHaven Avenue home where Andrew Mutt, 25, of Philadelphia, and Sarah King, 19, of Penndel, told him they knew nothing of the gun. The couple helped the man search a bedroom for his lost firearm, according to police.

The owners of the DeHaven Avenue home spoke with police and called King to requested she return to the house with Mutt. Both refused and then told police they were at a Falls Township apartment complex, court papers say.

Penndel police said they went to the apartment complex and found the couple in a stairwell. Both were allegedly about to inject heroin.

Court papers say Mutt and King were found with small bags, syringes, a bottle of Fiji water and a green bottle cap that was being used to mix heroin. Mutt, who had an active bench warrant, was found with 29 wax baggies with suspected heroin, police said.

Penndel police officer Sean Perry spoke with the two and they told him they sold the gun to a woman known either as “China” or “Gina.”

The couple said they sold the gun to the woman in exchange for two and a half bundles of heroin, court papers say. The gun-for-drugs trade reportedly happened at Penndel Memorial Field.

The two were charged with drug, theft and firearm related offenses. Both were arraigned and sent to Bucks County prison on 10 percent of $70,000.
