An official said a call of a struck pedestrian came in shortly before 7 a.m. and emergency crews responded to the scene near the train station in Middletown.

The victim’s condition was not immediately known.

Due to the accident happening on the crossing grade where West Trebtin SEPTA Regional Rail trains often travel, service between the Neshaminy Falls and West Trenton stations was suspended. Train service inbound to Center City on the rest of the line was also experiencing delays, according to a SEPTA spokesperson.

Police said Woodbourne Road would be closed between Pickering Bend and Wood Lane for several hours as the investigation into the incident continued.

SEPTA officials said train service would return to normal once police finished their investigation.
