The branch is expected to help students learn about business, give them some part-time work and comes in conjunction with the credit union’s financial education classes that they have been holding at the high school.

“Financial education and hands-on learning is at the foundation of our brand. We want to be recognized in the community as not only a great place to bank, but a financial institution who cares about the community and is dedicated to educating the youth. It makes us different from other banks and allows us to impact the community” Jim Merrill, CEO of the credit union, said.

Principal James Moore said the student tellers, who will be running the branch with the help of credit union employee Keith Gallen, have shown an interest in business and banking.
“This will help kids shore up their post secondary plans,” he said.

Hillary Reed, vice president of marketing for Inspire, said the credit union has two other in-school branches in Bucks County.
Inspire was formerly known as Bucks First Federal Credit Union and started as a teacher-only credit union.
