A resident of an apartment at the Village of Pennbrook complex on Mill Creek Road awoke to go the bathroom around 4 a.m. one morning in mid-June. As he walked through the unit, he encountered an unknown man inside his living room with a flashlight. Arrest papers say the man was not a maintenance employee like the resident first thought.
“You better get out of here,” the resident reportedly told the intruder, later identified as Litwinow.
Litwinow listened to the man and did tell him he had a drug problem, police noted in court papers.

The resident later discovered his Kindle and iPhone 5 were taken, police said. They added that Litwinow gained access through an unlocked door.
Stepped up police patrol helped catch Litwinow several days after the burglary. An officer asked Litwinow if he could search him and the 25-year-old agreed. A flashlight, suspected drug pharapernailia and an iPhone charger were found on Litwinow, court papers say.
Judge Jeffery Finley stated at sentencing that Litwinow would have to undergo drug and alcohol evaluation and may serve in a therapeutic community.
