PECO will be hosting a question and answer session this Thursday at the Falls Township Municipal Building in an effort to address concerns from township residents about the reliability of electric service in the area.
The question and answer session will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. inside the public meeting hall located at 188 Lincoln Highway in Fairless Hills.

Representatives from the company will be on hand to talk about upgrades that are currently underway that should improve electric reliability issues. This past winter, Falls residents endured several power outages.
The work set for eastern Bucks County, including Falls, includes:
- Enhanced tree trimming and vegetation removal along more than 43 miles of aerial lines throughout the area
- 17,700 feet of new aerial wire, including 8,300 feet of tree-resistant wire installed in targeted locations
- Advanced equipment and upgrades to existing devices to reduce the number of customers impacted when outages do occur
- 24 pieces of equipment to help isolate issues and restore service more quickly
- New substation transformer and enhancements to an adjacent transformer
PECO spokesperson Greg Smore told LevittownNow.com last month that weather-related outages can’t always be prevented, but upgrades like those planned for the area will increase the likelihood the lights will stay on.

The meeting is in response to numerous Falls residents who have complained during recent Board of Supervisors meetings that their electricity has been unreliable, specifically in developments around the golf course. Thornridge residents have also experienced issues.
PECO officials have said the upgrades are costing $10 million and will be completed by early next year.
