Bristol Township School District’s Drummers with Attitude (DWA) will be traveling to Hershey, PA for the third annual Student Celebration Showcase, a feature event at the 2014 PASA-PSBA School Leadership Conference. The drummers are one of eight performing arts groups statewide to be selected for the honor. DWA will take the stage on Oct. 22, 2014, 7:30-9:30 PM, in the Chocolate Ballroom at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center and entertain more than 500 Pennsylvania school board members and administrators.

Led by Kevin Travers, DWA is a diverse group of student drummers and dancers from Neal A. Armstrong, and Franklin D. Roosevelt Middle Schools and Harry S. Truman High School. The dynamic percussion group has been performing since 2000 throughout the Philadelphia area.

This summer, PSBA launched a search for exceptional groups or individual from Pennsylvania school districts to dazzle the audience at the organization’s annual meeting. PSBA received applications from district dance teams, jazz bands, orchestras and glee clubs and chose eight energetic and entertaining student acts that will each perform for 15 minutes as part of a celebration of public school students.

“This is quite an honor,” said District Superintendent Samuel Lee. “I look forward to being in the audience when our talented students take the stage,” he added.
