A Pennsbury School District Transportation Department employee has been named Bus Driver of the Year.

Tracy Thomas, who drives bus 99, was honored by the school board recently. She first learned of the distinction at the Pennsbury bus drivers’ school year kick-off meeting in August, according to the district.

Thomas drives special needs students, ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade, in the morning along with transportation aide Debbie Greenwood.
The district noted in a recent newsletter that Thomas serves with other transportation staff on Transportation Safety Committee and another committee that oversees regular updates to the drivers’ manual.
“Tracy values the relationships she forms with her student riders and their parents,” said District Director of Transportation Charles Williams named. ”She makes the children’s physical and emotional welfare her top priority.”
