State police say they plan to charge a man following a Friday night motorcycle accident in Middletown.

The 45-year-old motorcyclist from Philadelphia was racing another motorcyclist on I-95 southbound near Woodbourne Road when he crashed and slid off the highway into an embankment around 10:45 p.m., according to state police.

A witness watched the injured motorcyclist hide a container in nearby grass, state police said.
Troopers later recovered the container and noted in a press release that it contained three suspected marijuana cigarettes.
The motorcyclist was taken to St. Mary Medical Center to be treated for “moderate” injuries and to have blood taken. State police said the blood will be tested to see if the man was under the influence at the time of the crash.
