Joe Dragon, former Bristol Township police officer for 16 years, established Primal Nutrition, the second of its kind in Fairless Hills, recently Dragon went from Public safety to public health, fulfilling his dream of becoming a business owner.

You would think since he was in the police force, heโ€™d be quite intimidating, but heโ€™s actually opposite of that. He has a sweet exterior that displays a, โ€œhow can I help you?โ€ message. Just by talking with him for about 30 minutes, you can see the passion in his eyes pertaining to health & fitness. You learn that rather quickly by asking him which supplements and protein powder he suggests after a long and hard work-out session.

โ€œI absolutely use protein powder and believe that it works,โ€ Dragon said.

Diet pills, supplements, protein shakes and protein powder. There are so many ways to get in shape such as apps for your cell, going to the gym, classes and doing it on your downtime. No matter what, we all want to have a smoking body.

Places like GNC and Vitamin Shoppe sells these products, but hello, have you seen the prices? In this economy, we need to save all the money we can! Joe combined his love for health & fitness with his desire to own a business.

โ€œIโ€™ve always wanted to own my own business and Primal Fitness was the perfect opportunity,โ€ Dragon said. He also added that he sees it becoming successful and has already seen a few familiar faces. Itโ€™s only been open for about two months now and he says itโ€™s definitely picking up.

His co-workers and family were very supportive of his decision to leave the police force. He just knew it was the right time to move on.

This is the second Primal Fitness in Pennsylvania. The other is in Philadelphia, but Dragon was traveling too far just to pick up some supplements!

โ€œI got my supplements from Primal,โ€ Dragon said. โ€œThere wasnโ€™t a lot of places here to get things, other than online.โ€

He started out by chatting with the business owners of the other Primal Nutrition and it flourished into opening up his own nutrition store.

โ€œWe donโ€™t really have that around here,โ€ Dragon said.

The question at hand is, what separates Primal Nutrition from other competitors?

โ€œPricing and the type of supplements,โ€ Dragon said. โ€œWe have a bigger selection and better pricing.โ€

Dragon, who has been a personal trainer for 3-4 years began this whole process a year ago. First, he spoke with insurance companies, lawyers about regulations, taxes etc and then he had to scout out a location.

โ€œI happened to ride by and this store was vacant,โ€ Dragon said. It seemed as if it was fate! What are the odds of him finding a place in a great location and so quickly? It was meant to be.

Dragonโ€™s love for going to the gym began in his 20โ€™s, when he started being a police officer. He trained a couple clients, but he didnโ€™t put too much time and energy into it because he was committed to police work full time.

โ€œI liked helping people with weight loss, fitness in general and reach their goals,โ€ Dragon said.

At Primal, they offer protein, protein powder, shakes, protein muffins, cookies and granola bars, pre-workout supplements and minor workout gear like belts, gloves and straps. Dragonโ€™s shop is a mirror image of Primal in Philadelphia. If the Fairless Hills Primal doesnโ€™t carry a product, Dragon can just call over to the Philadelphia store and get it from that one instead. Also, if a customer comes in asking for a product and they donโ€™t carry it, Dragon can add it to his inventory!

โ€œWeโ€™re here to help anyone meet their goals,โ€ Dragon shared. โ€œWeโ€™re always open to help.โ€
