Woman Passes Following Serious Levittown Crash


After spending more than a week unresponsive at St. Mary Medical Center, a Bristol Township woman died Wednesday night from injuries sustained during a wreck last week on Mill Creek Parkway.

Bristol Township police Sgt. Chuck Burns confirmed Heather MacHenry, 55, passed away. MacHenry was a Maple Shade Elementary School teacher and wife of a longtime Levittown volunteer firefighter.

MacHenry was attempting to make a left turn onto eastbound Mill Creek Parkway from Oaktree Drive in a Toyota Prius when she was involved in a crash with a Dodge pickup truck driven by a 52-year-old Fairless Hills last Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Firefighters rushed to the scene after the sound of the crash was heard through the Oaktree section where she lived. Crews from the from the Edgely, Fairless Hills and Levittown  No. 2 fire companies freed MacHenry.The Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad transported her to the hospital in critical condition.

The cause of the crash has not been released.
