A early-morning fire in Bristol Township was sparked by an electrical issue, according to the fire marshal.

The fire at a building in the 3000 block of Ford Road involved heavy flames shooting through the roof. Crews were on the scene starting around 1 a.m. Saturday.
Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito told LevittownNow.com an investigation determined the fire was started by a faulty outlet.
“The outlet was in the back of the building and was not a GFI outlet and had been there for many, many years and the business owner was unsure if the outlet had been used that he knew of and had just started using the outlet to power a refrigerator and some other items no more than two days ago, so there was a new load on that wire and problems with the wire in the attic,” Dippolito told said Sunday afternoon.

The flames were so intense, firefighters’ sounded evacuations tones until the fire could be brought under control. Video filmed by Levittown-area videographer Ron Roberts shows fire crews pulling out of the building.
No injuries were reported.
