The story of a Levittown girl afflicted withย the H1N1 virus andย  pneumonia while on a family trip to Disney World in Florida last winter has a happy ending.

The 7-year-old’s battle with the remnants of the illness looks to be over, her father, Jason Heim, said in a social media post.

A big thank you to all of our friends for praying for Jaylea. We visited CHOP on Friday and the respiratory doctor said that she is 99% recovered. She is now off all medicine! She has some scar tissue outside her lung so that is the 1 percentย and the doctor anticipates that she should only need medicine the first couple times she gets a cold.

LevittownNow.com chronicled Jaylea’s fight with H1N1 andย pneumonia in March and her joyous return back to Levittown with a surprise welcome home party organized by a group of first responders in the Levittown area.

Jason Heim said on Thursday that Jaylea is back in her home school classes and went swimming on Sunday after church. Jaylea was even able to hold her breathe under water, which is what 7 year- old’s are supposed to be doing before summer ends.

“Praise God,” said Jason Heim.
