According to Middletown police, motorists coming from Woodbourne Road will be able to get to the Rapture Trailer Company. Vehicles coming from Township Line Road will only be able to get to Paramount Industries.

Middletown Township Manager Stephanie Teoli Kuhls said the closure is so crews could install culverts along the road. Once the installation is complete, crews will mill a section of Township Line Road. The final step of the project involves paving Big Oak Road and a portion of the Middletown side of Township Line Road, the manager told LevittownNow.com.

The project is expected to be completely finished by mid-September, Teoli Kuhls said.

Officials said a Casino Redevelopment Grant worth $700,000 and a $339,000 state grant will pay for the undertaking. Middletown Board of Supervisors Chairman Pat Mallon said recently the left over money will pay for the improvements to the Middletown side of Township Line Road.

A half-mile section of the road, part of which lies in a flood plain, will be 16-inches thick when completed. Zoning Director Pat Duffy told LevittownNow.com in June that a foot of concrete and several inches of asphalt will help stop erosion of the road.

Big Oak Road has not been overhauled since it was constructed. Temporary repairs were completed following deterioration of the road surface last year.
