An ordinary traffic stop led to police uncovering an alleged mobile methamphetamine lab overnight at a gas station in Yardley.

According to a release made by the Lower Makefield Township Police Department, a Lower Makefield officer originally pulled over Michael Sember, 28, of the Pinewood section of Levittown, for an expired registration.

During the routine stop, the officer noticed drugs and paraphernalia on the floor of the car in plain view, according to information provided by the police department. Sember was taken into custody for the alleged possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
When conducting a search of the rest of the car, the officer found items commonly used to make methamphetamine, police said.
According to a press release, Sember admitted to the arresting officer that he attempted to create methamphetamine in his car, effectively owning a โmobile meth lab.โ

The gas station was evacuated and traffic was diverted, according to police. A โspecial unitโ arrived from the Philadelphia Police Department in order to help local officers properly dispose of the chemicals found in the trunk of the car.
Sember was arraigned overnight in front of Judge Falcone; his charges include drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and manufacturing and delivery of controlled substance.ย His bail was set at 10 percent of $70,000, according to the official release of information.
