Local legislative representation is going to look a little different in a few months.
In order to reflect population changes that were represented in the most recent census data of 2010, the local area will go through a process of redistricting before the upcoming year begins.

The newly drawn 142nd district, as well as the 141st and 140th districts, will undergo these changes as of December 1 of this year.
Congressional and legislative redistricting is a normal occurrence where new census data helps to determine a state’s number of congressional seats as well as to redraw the boundaries of elective districts to maintain equal representation on the basis of population.
With most recent data, the state of Pennsylvania lost one congressional seat, going from 19 to 18.

The new 142nd district, currently represented by PA State Rep. Frank Farry, will soon include all of Lower and Upper Southampton Township, Langhorne and Langhorne Manor, as well as parts of Middletown Township.

Penndel and Hulmeville Boroughs, as well as the apartments located on Rt. 413, and Parkland will all become part of the 141st district, currently represented by PA State Rep. Tina Davis.

The Woodbourne side of the Highland Park section in Levittown will become part of the 140th district, currently represented by PA State Rep. John Galloway.
