American Breadcrumb Company was granted a land development plan recently by Bristol Township Council. The plan includes an expansion onto their facility at 1425 Hanford Street.

That wasn’t all the good news the company received.

On Monday, the Bucks County Economic Development Corporation was awarded a $700,000, 15-year loan at 2.25 percent on behalf of the breadcrumb company by the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority. The money will cover a portion of the $1.7 million project.

The company will add 18,000-square-feet to their building and create between 8 and 20 new jobs. Representatives for the company were not immediately available to confirm the exact number of new jobs.

According to a Bristol Township press release:

The Council President said that the project was not a simple land development approval and the administration worked with the company to achieve their goal. The applicant had to obtain Zoning Hearing Board approval, vacate a portion of a Township highway, and acquire additional property prior to getting land development approval.

“I think it is a feather in Bristol Township’s cap that a quality business like American Breadcrumb went to the lengths they did to stay in the Township,” Bristol Township Council President Bob Lewis said.

The Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority financing provided Monday to make the project possible was part of roughly $15 million in low-interest loans for 12 projects throughout the state. The loans are expected to create 229 new jobs and retain 664 jobs.
