Police, fire and medics from around the area will take part in an active shooter drill in Langhorne Manor Thursday evening.

The drill will take place around 5:30 p.m. at Cairn University and will last roughly two hours. Information released by the small Christian college says the drill will include of 100 first responders and volunteers.
“This drill will help prepare and train local emergency responders, as well as Cairn personnel, should a tragedy like this ever occur,” the statement from Cairn University reads.
Middletown Township Fire Marshal Jim McGuire, who helped plan the drill, said residents surrounding the college will all be alerted of the active shooter drill.
Officials from multiple agencies will take part in the drill, which is the first of its size at the college, McGuire said.
The university will be working with the responding departments and its own security officials to coordinate the drill.
McGuire said the drill will be the first time Middletown units will be try out new protective equipment that was designated for active shooter incidents. Some of the equipment was generously donated by the group that runs the Middletown Grange Fair, the fire marshal said.
The active shooter training follows similar activities in the past years at Harry S. Truman High School in Bristol Township and the Bucks County Courthouse in Doylestown.
