Police were busy along Route 1 Friday evening.

Middletown and state police were called to respond a three-vehicle hit-and-run accident Friday evening. The crash happened in Langhorne Manor and the driver fled into Middletown before breaking down on Route 1 by the Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. Officers were speaking with the man about the damage to his van when he darted. Police were able to capture the suspect and state police are continuing the investigation, Middletown Sgt. Steve Foreman said.

Seconds later, a Chevrolet Blazer and Mitsubishi Outlander crashed on Route 1 by Neshaminy High School. The Blazer overturned and fire crews responded to the scene. Two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries following the accident, Foreman said. The crash remains under investigation.
The two incidents caused major traffic troubles along southbound Route 1.
