With the addition of the CNG station, the concrete company will be adding 30 Oshkosh Front Discharge Trucks with 12 liter CNG engines and two CNG tractors for cement hauling.

“We’re excited with this partnership,” said Larry Silvi, president of Silvi Concrete. “Utilizing CNG will help us better manage our costs. Equally important, it will help us reach our goal of becoming more environmentally friendly while allowing us to deliver the best, most cost-efficient product to our customers.”

Officials said in a statement one of the main advantages of CNG is its low cost compared to diesel fuel. CNG is also reported to be better for the environment.

U.S. Oil plans to have more than 100 CNG stations in operation in the next three years.

“Carriers are recognizing the fuel cost savings of CNG and, with a strong national network in place, are converting their fleets from operating on diesel fuel,” said  Bill Renz, general manager for GAIN Clean Fuel.

The new station is expected to be completed in November.
