The 32-year-old Wrightstown woman is accused of driving drunk and then accusing a Pennsylvania State Police trooper of sexual assaulting her following her May 10 arrest.

Assistant District Attorney Antonetta Stancu said Cegli’s separate DUI and false reports cases were consolidated into one last week. Cegli waived her right to a preliminary hearing for both cases.

According to court papers filed by Bucks County Detectives, Ceglia was stopped and arrested for DUI on May 10 in Bensalem by two state troopers. One of the troopers then reportedly transported her from the site of her traffic stop to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown so she could get a blood draw to see how intoxicated she was.

From there, Ceglia was transported to the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Bensalem where she said one of the troopers touched her left breast, unbuttoned her shorts and touched her vagina, court papers say.

The 32-year-old said she told the trooper “no” and pushed his hand away, according to court papers.

Ceglia reported the alleged assault to Bucks County Detectives at St. Mary Medical Center after her release from state police custody. It is unclear as of press time why she returned to St. Mary Medical Center following her release from state police.

Detectives interviewed troopers and reviewed security video. In court papers, the investigators said they were unable to find anything to back up Ceglia’s allegations.

In a June 4 interview with county detectives in Doylestown, Ceglia said she “fabricated the allegations because she was concerned that her father would be upset with her” over the DUI arrest.
