Multiple law enforcement sources have confirmed Shaun Sperling, 35, of Levittown was wanted in connection to an alleged incident in Philadelphia that involved a police officer. The incident happened beforeย Sperling allegedly led police on a high-speed chase in Lower Bucks County Saturday night. ย

Additional charges are expected to be filed “sometime soon” in connection to the incident that kicked of the chase and pursuit of Sperling. The chase began on I-95 and end in Levittown late Saturday night.
According to the sources, charges will be filed out of the Philadelphia’s 24th District Police Department, based in Kennsington section of Philadelphia.
What exactly happened is unknown at this point, however, its alleged Sperling “assaulted” an officer in the4 city.

There is no information available at this time as to whether the officer was in need of or required medical attention of any kind.

The man pursued by law enforcement through Levittown Saturday night was arraigned early Sunday morning by Perkasie District Court Judgeย Charles W. Baum.
Shaun Sperling, 3o, of Levittown, is charged with 30 offenses including DUI, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, institutional vandalism for alleged his role in turning Levittown into the modern day version of the car chase classic movie “Bullitt.”
The chase, according to police sources, was initiated by state police from the Trevose barracks around 9:50 p.m. Saturday night in Bristol Township.

The pursuit which officers from around the area sped through New Falls Road to Wistar Road then onto Woodburne Road, witnesses reported. The chase caught the attention of residents in the community who started to post chase information on the LevittownNow Facebook page.

Authorities employed spike strips while the high-speed pursuit was taking place, police said. Sperling was able to avoid some strips but ran some over in he area of Haines Road and Mill Creek Parkway.

The chase ended, according to witnesses, in the area of Dogwood Drive and Dark Leaf Lane. Officers and troopers were able to take Sperling into custody as neighbors rushed outside to see what was happening.
As the pursuit came to an end, a police helicopter hoovered overhead. Its beam of light moving from left to right.

The silver Nissan Xterra was loaded onto a ย flatbed and taken into evidence by authorities.
As of press time, it is unclear why police were initially attempting to stop Sperling.

No serious injuries were reported in the chase.
Sperling was found guilty by a jury of DUI in June, according to online court documents. ย He is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Gary B. Gilman in September.
Sperling was sent to Bucks County Jail in lieu of 10 percent of $100,000 and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on August 12 in front of District Court Judge Joanne V. Kline.
