As of early Monday morning, no charges have been filed in Saturday night’s stabbing at the Pennsbury Woods apartment complex on New Falls Road in Falls Township.

Police said late Sunday night the man they took into custody near the scene of the Saturday night stabbing is believed to be the person who stabbed the other man. Lt. Hank Ward said detectives are investigating and still trying to piece together the “very convoluted” situation.

The condition of the male stabbed is not known as of publication time, however, police did say the injuries were not life-threatening.
According to an initial police statement, the incident took place as the victim visited the apartment complex on New Falls Road in an effort to pick his child up from a babysitter around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
A verbal altercation started and a knife was pulled. Eventually, the victim was stabbed, police said.

The man who stabbed the other man fled on foot, police said. They added the victim chased the man they believe stabbed him.
Officers were called and set up a a perimeter around a small wooded area behind the St. Joseph the Worker Parish where they believed the man who pulled the knife was hiding.

Neighbors said police cars whizzed into the area following the stabbing while the one man was being sought.
An officer and K-9 dog eventually were able to capture the man in the wooded area, according to police.
The man police captured Saturday night is currently free until it is decided if charges will be filed.
