A man accused of escaping last month from a minimum security program operated by the Bucks County Department of Corrections in Doylestown was captured in Tullytown Monday.

Borough police along with Bristol Township officers took 35-year-old Milton Ainsworth into custody at the intersection of Levittown Parkway and Lakeside Drive. Ainsworth was located and arrested around 11:30 a.m.

Tullytown Police Chief Daniel Doyle said Ainsworth was wanted for the June 18 escape and also on domestic warrants.
County spokesman Chris Edwards confirmed Ainsworth walked away from the minimum security program in Doylestown on June 18. Following his escape, an all-points bulletin was issued to police agencies throughout the county.
Before inmates like Ainsworth can participate in the minimum security program, their cases are reviewed by the court. The program allows inmates to work off-campus and sleep in dorms, not cells. The minimum security program does include several daily headcounts by corrections officials.

Ainsworth’s alleged escape came days after Matthew Miller walked away from the same facility in Doylestown. Miller is accused of stabbing a Bensalem police officer and stealing his patrol SUV a few days later when the officer stopped him. The officer was not seriously injured in the incident.
