Falls Accepting Applications for Citizen Police Academy

The Falls Township Police Department will be conducting a 13-week Citizen Police Academy for Township residents beginning September 3, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Falls Township Municipal Building. Classes will be held Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Applications can be obtained at the Falls Township Police Department Monday thru Friday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. or online at the Falls Township website. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Deadline for applications are August 20, 2014.

This program is designed to educate Township residents about department procedures, responsibilities and demands on police officers. Some of the topics that will be covered include; an overview of the department’s structure, recruitment and training, interview techniques, a visit to the (911) county radio room, traffic enforcement, and also observe court hearings at the local District Justice. In addition, participants will be given an opportunity to “ride along” with a patrol officer.
