According to a court official, a plea deal was announced and the charges in the two cases were waived to Doylestown.

Potts is accused of having “sexually explicit” conversations with  girls living in Canada, West Virginia, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina and New York, police said. The girls were all between the ages of 13 and 16, according to court papers.

Police said Potts used messaging apps Kik and Skout to talk with the girls.

Potts alleged illicit activity was discovered by a family member in February after the 45-year-old was taken to the hospital and left his phone at home.

Using a search warrant, police examined Potts’ phone and found the explicit text messages with users on the phone apps.

Potts is a tier II Megan’s Law offender following a conviction for unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of a communication facility for an incident more than a decade ago in Sellersgrove.  According to state police, tier II offenders have to register as an offender for 25 years and check in with authorities twice a year.

The family member told police they knew they had to report what they had seen on the phone because he was fearful another child could end up getting hurt.

Potts is in county prison and is unable to post bail in both cases.
