The female homeowner suffered burns, some second-degree, to her face, chest, foot and arms, Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry said.

Farry, who is also the fire marshal in Langhorne Manor, said the apparent explosion left a debris field of about 6 to 8 feet. The field consisted of parts of the laptop and included patches of burnt carpet.

The woman, who had to take her shirt off because it was burning, used water from a dog bowl to put out the fire before first responders arrived, Farry said.

The woman was transported to ambulance to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown for treatment. Her condition was not available as of late Sunday night, but Farry said she was conscious and alert following the incident.

Farry said evidence was collected from the home for the investigation into the explosion. The Middletown fire marshal was called to assist.
