According to police, a resident of an apartment at the Village of Pennbrook complex on Mill Creek Road awoke to go the bathroom around 4 a.m. Monday. As he walked through the unit, he encountered an unknown man – an alleged burglar – inside his living room with a flashlight. Arrest papers say the man was not a maintenance employee like the resident first thought.

“You better get out of here,” the resident reportedly told the suspect, later identified as Justin Litwinow, 25, of Falls.
Litwinow listened to the man and did tell him he had a drug problem, police noted in court papers.
The resident later discovered his Kindle and iPhone 5 were taken, police said. They added that Litwinow gained access through an unlocked door.

Due to recently stepped up patrols along the Mill Creek Road corridor, Litwinow was spotted a few days after the burglary before dawn and stopped by an officer. The officer asked Litwinow if he could search him and the 25-year-old agreed. A flashlight, suspected drug pharapernailia and an iPhone charger were found on Litwinow, court papers say.
Detective Stephen Reeves interviewed Litwinow and he allegedly admitted to committing the burglary on Monday.

Litwinow is charged with burglary, criminal trespassing, theft and related offenses. The 25-year-old was arraigned by on-call District Judge Joanne Kline and sent to county jail on 10 percent of $25,000.
