Michael Perkins, 52, plead guilty before a county judge in Doylestown to multiple counts of endangering the welfare of children and a single count of felony custodial interference . As part of the guilty plea, Perkins will have to deal with three years probation, parenting classes and a parenting plan from county youth services.

Perkins is accused of fleeing the area with his 3-, 10- and 12- year-old children in March shortly before Bucks County youth workers and police arrived at his home on Inwood Road to take the children and discovered the kids and Perkins were gone.
After numerous attempts over the following days to locate the children and Perkins proved unfruitful, police entered the three kids as “involuntarily missing,” according to court papers. An Amber Alert could not be issued because investigators did not have a vehicle description, police said.
On March 5, police were able to get in contact with Perkins after calling his mother numerous times.

“Police spoke to the father by phone and he admitted that he had his three children but would not bring the children back to the police station or divulge where the children were located,” Lt. Terry Hughes said in a written statement distributed to the media in March.
Detective Michael Slaughter checked local hotels for Perkins and the kids, but his search came up empty, court papers say.

Police said they received a tip on day 11 of the investigation that Perkins was headed back to Philadelphia on a bus from Tampa, Florida.
Perkins was arrested without incident at a Philadelphia bus depot. All three children were unharmed.
