The Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company will display the flag from their tower truck during the event and Katie Pullman, a 16-year-old from Council Rock South, leads participants in the singing of the “Star-Spangled Banner.”

“We are very excited about being a part of this unique opportunity to pay tribute to a song that has united our nation,” Farry said in a statement. “Not only is it about coming together as a community, it’s also a great time to reflect on the words and the meaning of the song, and those who have served and are currently serving our country so that we can live free.”

The event will be part of the national Raise It Up program, which celebrates the 200-year-old “Star-Spangled Banner.” The program is “encouraging citizens across the U.S. to participate in the largest group sing of the national anthem in history,” according to a press release.
