During construction, Route 213 motorists wanting to access southbound Route 1 will take Route 213 East, Route 1 North, Interstate 95 South, southbound Business Route 1, and follow to Route 1 South. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.

In addition, one travel lane will be closed on northbound and southbound Route 1 between South Bellevue Avenue and the I-95 Interchange, and North Flowers Mill Road and South Flowers Mill Road on Monday through Friday (June 9-13) from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and on the following weekend from 9 p.m. Friday (June 13) to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 14 for paving.

PennDOT is improving Route 1 by replacing the three-span, pre-stressed box beam bridge over Route 213 with a new single-span, pre-stressed concrete beam structure. Crews are also rebuilding and realigning the Route 1 ramps to Route 213; resurfacing the roadway approaches and ramps; installing glare screens on the median barrier; erecting overhead sign structures; installing new signs, pavement markers and guide rail; and upgrading drainage systems.
