Middletown police used fingerprints to solve a burglary case from October.
According to court papers filed by Detective Gregory Kneiss, police were dispatched to a home in on Jasmine Road in Levittown in October for reports of a burglary. A police officer responded and found a home where jewelry boxes and dresser drawers had been rummaged through. The resident reported the incident happened during the daytime.

It was determined that entry to the home was made through an unlocked window, court papers say. Police said they determined that the alleged burglar used patio furniture to climb in the window and onto a dresser inside.
Kneiss processed the crime scene and discovered fingerprints while checking the window frame, police said, adding the prints indicated the suspect grabbed on the frame when coming in the house.
Two print samples were obtained and sent to the state police for testing. The results came back and traced back to a Falls Township man, court papers say.

On Monday morning, the match – Nathan Phillips, 21 – was arraigned on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal trespass. He was sent to county prison on 10 percent of $50,000 bail.
