State Rep., Principal Go to Jail to Raise Funds & Awareness

State Rep. John Galloway and Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary School principal Terrie Giardine went to jail on Thursday.

Not that kind of jail.

Galloway and Giardine took  part in lock-up the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s (MDA) premier fundraising effort yesterday in at the Red Robin in Trevose.

Galloway’s bail is $3,000 and he needs the communities help in the fight against the disease, he said.

Galloway stated he wanted to raise funds with the help of businesses and other community leaders to support the “vital work of the MDA.”

“MDA is a great organization and one that is near and dear to my heart. Going to their ‘jail’ was all in good fun,” Galloway told LevittownNow.com.

All funds raised by the MDA Lock-Up assist the association in providing lifesaving research, a nationwide network of medical clinics and accessible summer camp experiences to individuals and families affected by neuromuscular diseases, according to
